Hi, I recently purchased the vet 30 for my cats. I am having trouble getting the SPO2 reading. It worked the first time, and is not working since. The readings are extremely low..in the 70s. My cats are healthy, so it doesn't make sense. I am trying to measure it from their ear tips. Any suggestions? Also, it says that the device can be connected to a PC app. What is the name of the desktop application, and how do I transfer the data using blue tooth? I plugged in the adaptor to my laptop, but the vet 30 device keeps saying unable to locate bluetooth device. Please help.

Is it possible to use the SunTech Oscar 2 Standard 24 Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor for pets (cats) as well? For exaple with an adjusted cuff, attached to the metre? I ask this because the metre in the vid is very good but expensive to me as an owner that would love to take BP at home of my cat. He is very stressed at the vet, making it difficukt to get a reliable reading also because they use Doppler making it more complicated and stressful, Hence my question. I would be very grateful for the answer.

Though I didn't learn anything from the video, it was funny and a great teaching tool for those who are new at blood pressure measurements. I've been taking my blood pressure for about 20 years and this video is spot on. One thing I would add to this video, since there are all sorts of shaped arms is how to put a cuff on an arm that is a bit cone shaped for instance so the width of the cuff closes the length of the artery under the cuff. While the SunTech oscillometric units are good quality units and work great on larger patients, this marketing video goes a bit far in vilifying Doppler flow detectors which are still invaluable tools in the veterinary arsenal. As both a registered veterinary technician with over thirty years of experience and a certified biomedical equipment technician I have had many smaller peripherally constricted patients on which I have been able to acquire a systolic value using the Doppler method on which I could not acquire a value using the oscillometric method, to include the SunTech algorithm which I believe to be the best oscillometric algorithm for small animal use currently on the market. The video states that one cannot acquire a diastolic value using the Doppler method and while it is true that one cannot consistently obtain diastolic values on smaller patients they often can be acquired on larger healthy patients. Besides which, most oscillometric units do not acquire a diastolic value but acquire a mean arterial pressure from which systolic and diastolic values are calculated using a proprietary algorithm. It also states that one cannot obtain a heart rate with the Doppler which is completely false, all you need is a technician that knows how to count which I believe they still teach in elementary school. And while this last point may be little more than a semantic argument it is a bit misleading to say that the ultrasound coupling gel medium "conducts" the ultrasonic waves to the crystal. Use of "conductive" gel, which is designed primarily for use in obtaining EKG waveforms, is contraindicated for use with Doppler probes as the extra minerals added to make it more conductive degrade the epoxy coating which protects the piezoelectric crystal in the probe head. Finally let me say that I think SunTech makes a fine product and I hope they continue their new journey into the veterinary market, despite my issues with this marketing video. We need more manufacturers like SunTech developing products for veterinary patients rather than just relabeling their other products for the veterinary marketplace.

Wow, this is an awesome video. These techniques should be taught in every hospital and doctor's office since so most of them don't know how to place the Blood Pressure Cuff on the arm. Most of them don't even bother to feel the artery when the cuff is being pumped up to see when the pulse stops. It should be mandatory for nurses and doctors to take a test every year in the technique of taking blood pressure. I will be adding this link to my blood pressure records.

Thank you for this great video. I noticed, not only do you show us where to put the brachial artery marking on cuff which I already do, but you take note of this man's arm being larger at the top than the bottom and wrap the cuff in such a way that most of the inflated pressure will be somewhere in the middle of the arm which confirms that I am indeed getting a correct reading. I had noted the cuff placement as well in other videos, taking into consideration the shape of the arm. But most nurses and doctors doesn't know how to take my blood pressure and that is why I started taking it at home. Instead of the middle part of my arm being at heart level they just have me to leave it dangling at my side with me sitting an examination table. To add insult to injury, when they wrap the cuff around my arm not taking into consideration the shape of my arm, it is really tight at the top and I can put my whole hand under the bottom. I don't understand why so many nurses and doctors don't know how to take blood pressure and I always get an outrageously high blood pressure reading with the doctor saying "You should be on blood pressure medicine". Even a lot of them don't even know where the brachial artery is. It's really scary the way the doctors and nurses take my blood pressure. But there has been a few doctors and nurses that do know how to take blood pressure readings and they get the same readings I get at home. I use to think it was white coat hypertension but I see otherwise.
